How to prepare for race day
A smooth race day starts with a little planning.
13:00 - Check-in opens @ Long Beach Car Park (North)
13:45 - Race briefing @ Rhona's Slip
14:00 - Race start @ Rhona's Slip
We recommend public transportation, ride shares, or getting a lift to the event area as parking nearby will be limited. If you are driving, plan ahead and follow local parking rules.
Check-in opens at 13:00 at Long Beach Car Park so that we can activate your Geo Tracks GPS system and attach it to your running vest. There may be checks of your mandatory kit so make sure you have everything - it is for your safety and ultimate enjoyment of the race at the end of the day.
If you have a drop bag, give it to a volunteer in the appropriate place. Rozel Shipping Company have kindly supported us with transport to St Aubin's so you can pick up your bags at the end.
Please label your bag clearly with your bib number and avoid bringing valuables. Only small personal items should be placed in the bag drop.
Once done, you should have time for a last minute visit to the public toilets if needed before making your way to Rhona's Slip which is a 3 minute walk.
The slip is named after Rhona's Cafe, a Jersey institution and part of the community, which is now managed by Marie and her team.
If you need a last minute caffeine boost, some Taytos for the extra salt or even a Jersey Wonder, this is the spot! I'm not sure one of their famous burger is ideal at this point with 16 miles to run...
You MUST be at the start for the race briefing at 13:45. Any last minute updates, changes and instructions will provided which will be crucial to ensure your safety and success. This isn't a normal race.
At 14:00 you will head through the start funnel and out towards the retreating sea in the direction of Seymour Tower which is looming on the horizon.
We wish you the very best of luck, and a fantastic day out in our unique intertidal zone.
